Student Food Rescue Brings Hope to the Hungry
Student Food Rescue aims to make a tangible impact on hunger in Greater Boston Becoming a Student Food Rescue volunteer made Ocean Bruinius (COM'27) feel truly a part of the BU community. Student volunteers pick up food donations from bakeries, grocers, and restaurants and deliver them to those in need through 25 community partners such as food pantries, women's transitional homes, shelters, and senior living communities.

Each year, the BU physics department attracts many spectators to its famous Pumpkin Drop, demonstrating gravitation and energy transition as various-sized pumpkins, filled with substances are dropped from a roof to the plaza below. This year, our recap video went viral, achieving over 13.6M views.

Built in 1965, Warren Towers has been a prominent building at BU and in Boston. It is now undergoing renovations! Upon completion, it will feature new plumbing and security systems, updated infrastructure, a remodeled dining hall with new equipment, and air conditioning.

BU alum Megan McClung (MET’06) was the first female Marine officer killed in combat during the Iraq War. Two decades later, the US Navy is honoring her by naming a class of landing ships and its first vessel, the USS McClung, after her.
