The BBA is closed today in celebration of Juneteenth, which commemorates the day Union troops rode into Galveston Bay, TX and announced that the more than 250k enslaved Black people in their state were free, celebrating the effective end of slavery in the United States.

The BBA mourns the loss of retired Supreme Court Justice David Souter, a NH native who served on the high court for 19 years before retiring to his beloved home state in 2009. He continued thereafter to hear cases on the First Circuit, where he had served very briefly prior to his elevation.

Today the Trial Court launched an on-line tool for tenants to petition to seal an eviction case—once the appeal period ends, if there’s a favorable disposition or the case was dismissed, or for a no-fault eviction, or 4 years after the end of a non-payment case or 7 years after a fault eviction.
