We kept the main event at Jeff and Lauren's secret for obvious reasons. Thanks to all the guests for your incredible reaction to my PowerPoint on conventional rail interoperability. Yes my hair was by Max Marsupial and the suit is classic Peter Parker. Not Dolce! Only Leo spotted it, chapeau fella

Astonished to be interviewed on local radio - as a private citizen - about the installation of new tracks in Watermael. Overhead catenary now fully installed. Just waiting on some signals I think. I went to a meeting about this project in....1997

Incredibly this is the first time I visit the Hoo peninsula for my Sunday dose of freight. Keep thinking of Dickens

The theme of today's promenade was "french-speaking martial arts". I rest my case

The former king fell to his death near this spot. I wonder how many heads of state have died in climbing accidents...

My switch to bluesky for my personal thoughts has netted 24 followers after one year. At this pace, when I'm 416 years old I will equal my friend @ottocr.at . Should have some tales to tell by then...

An interesting experiment travelling from Brussels to Warsaw for a meeting, by day trains. Sadly the locomotive failed in Poland and we are two hours late. But in terms of value and enjoyment, an excellent day.

Incredible how even the Central African Republic put these guys on its stamps. Why did they feel the need?

The excellent "1599" by James Shapiro. Parliament had decreed in 1571 that all over-6s should wear woollen "statute caps" on official holidays. More of this kind of legislation please.

Is it just me or are "inspirational quotes" always from people you have never heard of. "Walk forward 40000 steps and you will end up where you started", Benjamin N Quobertson

Eurostar eh? Service no longer deserves the incredible infrastructure it uses. Nowhere to sit in departures...no legroom...everything sacrificed to sell stuff. Even the fold-up seats between carriages are gone. Bring back a class 87-hauled set of BR Mark II...anything...

Source citations should be endnotes. Trivia, commentary, explanations, etc, should be footnotes. They should be formatted differently in both print and ebooks. This is a hill I would die on.
