@symonedsanders.bsky.social @symonedsanders.bsky.social the woman from Missouri, Carol, is from Hong Kong and Chinese, not Vietnamese. She’s my friend and we worked hard to get her home! Thank you all for continuing to tell this story.

@jenpsaki.msnbc.com thank you for telling Carol’s story last night! As a blue dot here in Kennett we are trying to elevate the story to help #bringcarolhome. She is just one of many suffering these illegal acts, but she’s ours and we want her home.

Please share this story - #BringCarolHome to her family and friends. Illegally detained in St. Louis in late April; now imprisioned in Springfield, MO awaiting deportation to Hong Kong. Had a valid visa, summoned to court for what she thought was a renewal meeting - and left in shackles.
“Nearly seven hours passed before ICE officers entered the room, placing the 45-year-old woman, whom many residents in Kennett described as a soccer mom, in shackles at the wrists, waist and ankles.”

A Kennett, Missouri, woman went to St. Louis last month for what she thought was a routine meeting with immigration officials to renew her immigration documents.

Instead, they shackled her and are now trying to deport her to Hong Kong.
