Thread, but also comments on this one. There’s a great comments thread about what actually happens after threats and why they often fall apart.
I’ve heard some stories recently of people complying with fascists’ demands after they were threatened.
As a violence researcher (and someone who has received a good deal of threats), everyone should know that complying will not save you. It only teaches the threatener that threats work.

I think we need a sitcom set in the Star Trek universe. Not set on a federation ship or anything like Lower Decks either. Just normal people going about their lives. It could be like Modern Family or whatever but with aliens and advanced technology.

One of the most insidious parts of the democratic party are the ones who demand they cater to the center and right and then claim they lost because they were too far left and must now move further right.
