#812: Loose Ends:
Panel 1: We see it's now nighttime. The trash can containing the thrown away Otter Kaiju sign is visible dimly illuminated. Panel 2: We see from the trash can's perspective the source of the illumination, and a dark figure. Panel 3: The dark figure lifts the cardboard out of the trash, their hands glowing with purple energy. Panel 4: The dark figure has vanished, leaving nothing but a scorched cardboard with a wisp of purple smoke. The streetlight is no longer working.

#811: A New Beginning:
A comic from BoomerExpress.com Panel 1: Ryan Bellcamp is visible in his room, we're looking through the window from the outside so the reflection of his college is visible. Ryan: I realize now after all the pain and struggle those two kangaroos went through to save us, to save the WHOLE WORLD... I don't want to see any of that effort wasted. Panel 2: A more distant shot of the dorm, above the treeline. Some people are out and about walking, but otherwise it's a quiet sunset. Ryan continues speaking, the speech bubble pointing out his location. Ryan: She SAVED us. From a death we never would have seen coming. Saved everyone we know and saved another whole world before that, too! The least we can do is make this world a better place. I think we owe them that much. Panel 3: A high up shot of the college campus, Ryan continues to speak. Ryan: So... I appreciate the offer. You make some really good stuff and it'll be fun again, but I want to focus on getting this degree now first. We've still got three more chapters for me to cover. Panel 4: The sunset is visible with Ferrington's skyline on the horizon. Ryan: Maybe if we can focus on ourselves like Victoria did, we can help save the world too, the next time it needs it.

Boomer Express #810: Looking Ahead!

A comic between Ryan and Michael regarding Physics homework and their future. Panel 1: Looking down on a textbook and written work, one hand of each character visible. Ryan: ...And Bernoulli's Principle lets us determine how much flow should go through the dam to properly balance the pressure... Michael: ...and thus we can calculate the proper force to apply to the valves to control it safely within the time limits! Panel 2: Ryan looks up out the window. It is getting late, the sun has already just set. Ryan: ...Speaking of time, it's getting pretty late. Wanna take a short break? Michael: Sounds good! I know just what ya need, too! Panel 3: Michael snaps his fingers, turning to get up and go to the kitchen. Michael: I've been working on a special Salvia Tea for you, celebrating getting home in one piece! Shall I? Ryan: Thanks, Mike. You've brewed some of the most amazing trips of my life, and I truly appreciate that... but... Panel 4: We are outside the apartment looking up at the silhouettes of the two of them inside the window. Ryan: ...after all I've seen and been through in the past few weeks? No thanks. I don't think any "Trip" could come close.

not to wax poetic about webcomics but I think one of the best things about webcomics is that reading them forces you to confront the fact that artists evolve and change over time, and that "style" is a necessarily evolving thing

Boomer Express #809: Truth and Consequences Panel 1: Michael is sitting on the couch across from Ryan. Michael: Normalcy, eh? Maybe you coulda gotten away with that before... Panel 2: Closeup of Ryan. His fur is now much lighter and his irises are orange. It's been like this ever since he swallowed the Dragon Orb. Michael: ...but your hair. Your EYES. Ryan: Yeah, Arroyo said it happens to anyone who "Improperly bonds with a dragon orb" or something. Panel 3: We see Victoria before and after her transformation, her olive irises now the same color of orange (even though her eyes are currently closed), and her hair has gone from nearly black to light blonde. Ryan: Victoria had the same thing happen to her. Jet black to platinum blond in a single day. Michael: Hmmm... Panel #4: Ryan: ...what? Michael: At least you'll have a lot more than just clowns to talk about with your mom this Christmas! Ryan: UUGH. Ryan is fed up with just how much he's going to have to explain to his family by this point!
