Thinking a lot about the Bonus Army this year. Veterans now are losing far more to these cuts than the vets at that time stood to lose by occupying DC. The VA obvs, but their shared histories are being erased too. As cuts ripple out into the rest of the economy their paths out of service dry up too
imo the left really needs to put a lot more effort into organizing veterans, especially now. they aren’t a political monolith, and a lot of them are getting screwed over right now.

Among the material devastation to everyday people, Senate Dems have now blown a hole in their ability to work with the House.

It’s unclear exactly why they were pushed out. But one of them may have said more publicly, or to the press, about the inner workings of the agency than the bosses wanted, according to the memo.
