Granted, you don't have to travel for three hours from DC to find an enclave of abject poverty, but I'm just setting the scene here.
GREG: Most of the stuff in that song is in WESTERN Virginia. This is more like verdant but rugged for half the year, gothic tangle of bare briars and gnarled rhododendrons for the rest. GREG: An enclave of abject poverty located a mere three hours from the capital of the wealthiest country to have ever existed. The result of an extraction industry that abandoned it more than half a century ago. THAT West Virginia. CHRIS: sounds charming. GREG: Desperately low literacy rates. Ground zero for the opioid-addiction epidemic. Ethnic homogeneity with all the attendant xenophobia.

This is one of those weird comic things, but the "oh." and "ah..." are on the same line, whereas, looking at it now, I think they should be separated. If it were instead "oh" comma "ah..." however I think this way would be correct. It does not escape me that this is a strange thing to note in a sequence of panels for which I have neglected to draw any backgrounds. CHRIS: i suppose the first thing to do would be to use our superior robot intellects to manipulate global markets and make ourselves the two richest beings to have ever existed.
