I’m thriving in my gardening era. This spring I love being a homeowner and having a yard (even though it’s expensive). So many projects to distract from the doom! Also I got a promotion at work, so that’s cool.

Enjoyed seeing the local high school put on a play promoting labor rights and collective action. The kids did a great job in Newsies and the message was on point 👏🏻

Hanging up my “cat mom” hat after 17 years of being one. The two worst days of my life were the day I lost Magick in 2021 (my tortie) and on Tuesday when I lost Spirit (the tabby). Spirit was 19 years old and unapologetically herself until her final days.

That pride has faded, to put it nicely. The actions being taken by our state legislators are extremely troubling, and I believe future generations will look back at this time with horror and shame.

Iowa actually has a history of leading the way on civil rights—being one of the first states to protect marginalized communities. I remember feeling so proud of that history when I learned about it as a kid.

I’m gonna start posting my Reese’s reviews on here. I’m going to preface this with I think that the normal regular cups are the best and I have never found anything to be better. Tonight I tried Chocolate Lava Big Cup and I thought it was damn good. It’s probably the best “new flavor” I’ve had.
