I think that historian Jon Meacham's remarks, starting at 9:18 in this tape, pretty much sum up the situation we're in. Spoiler alert: He ends with, "This is an immense test of American citizenship."

Vance told Fox News' Maria Bartiromo on Sunday, "The president made very clear that he wasn’t blaming anybody, but he was being very explicit about the fact that DEI policies have led our air traffic controllers to be short-staffed.”

Diversity, equity, and Inclusion means *fewer* people? WTF?

Early evidence points to lack of air traffic control personnel may have contributed to the DC plane crash. Trump blames it on DEI. Read the last five paragraphs of this: www.lgbtqnation.com/2025/01/cons...
Conservatives are now blaming the DC crash on a trans woman who had nothing to do with it - LGBTQ Nation
The woman is very much alive and is speaking out about being the target of a misinformation campaign.

Trump's cabinet members are falling in line. They each start their presentations by praising him. The only brown skin he likes to see is on the nose.

Why was a military helicopter on a training flight anywhere near a commercial airport?

My family lived in car-crazy LA after WWII. I recall the many oil pumps around us. We all thought that pumping oil out of the ground and using it to zoom all over the place in our cars was great. And here we are.

There’s one key villain in the L.A. wildfires. Any student of history knows who it is
Isn’t it time California stops pretending it is the Great Climate Savior, and acknowledges its complicity in getting the world hooked on fossil fuels?

Trump wants undocumented people who have committed even minor crimes to be deported. At the same time, he has ordered that they be replaced on our streets with convicted violent criminals. Mob boss loyalty before our eyes.

Perhaps lawyers supported Trump's candidacy. He brings in a lot of money for them. www.nytimes.com/2025/01/21/u...
18 States Sue to Stop Trump’s Birthright Citizenship Order
The lawsuit to block the president’s executive order is the first salvo in what is likely to be a long-running legal fight over immigration policy.

Time said that Musk agreed with an X post, “Can we please retire the calling people a Nazi thing? ...you’ve burned out its effect, people don’t feel shocked by it anymore, the wolf has been cried too many times.”

Uh, when the people ignored the boy's cries, the wolf ate the sheep.

The felon honors the oligarchs, pardons the criminals who support his violent takeover of democracy, and starts isolating from the rest of the world. Fascism starts on day one.

Sunday's Press Democrat quotes Gregg Gonsalves, an epidemiologist at Yale, as saying that having Robert Kennedy as Secretary of Health is like "putting a flat earther in charge of NASA."

Regarding Pete Hegseth's promise to quit drinking, if everyone who has promised to stop drinking if one thing happened to them actually quit, the alcohol industry would go belly up.

If you have access to the AARP Bulletin, I highly recommend "Where Have All the Doctors Gone?" in Jan/Feb 2025 issue. You'll learn the reasons why it's so difficult to see a doctor, mostly due to an error made in 1980 and corporate greed taking over healthcare.

Re Zuckerberg's comment about aggression being good, all wars are started by an act of aggression. I admire non-aggressive men, like Jesus Christ, Mahatma Ghandi, Jimmy Carter.

During an interview with Joe Rogan, Mark Zuckerberg said the following in his praise of masculinity, "I think having a culture that celebrates the aggression a bit more has its own merits that are really positive." Probably the main reason that Harris lost the election.

I have chosen to delete my facebook account. Instead of bowing to the politicization of "DEI" by MAGA, Mark Zuckerberg should've explained the true meanings of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, why these attitudes are important, and reiterated that Meta will embrace them.
