My own father had a terrible death from jaw cancer. Curled up in pain and ended up in palliative care in a sterile room. It was truly awful to witness never mind actually being in that position yourself. It makes you realise you really do want the choice.

I went to my own Dutch citizenship ceremony this year. It was amazing. The sense of pride and achievement (having had to learn the language) was immense. I now have a passport, am a dual national and have my FOM back. Can only imagine how new British citizens must feel.

I voted Labour last July. I feel betrayed and I’m not even disabled. But my mum was. In those days she had a lot of financial support. Under a Tory government and care. These days she’d get nothing because she could wipe her own backside (sometimes). It’s absolutely shameful what is happening.
