i take it back, turns out "all the world's evil can be traced back to the influence of a single guy operating from the shadows who died years ago" is actually much more realistic writing than i thought
if anything lophendoryne isn't cynical enough
the real lack of realism is in the villains accelerating the end times because they're following orders from an evil god, rather than more important things like making a bit more money
and not enough people deny the dead god in the sky is real

my favourite shit is tiny usb ports in phones that you have to use for everything since headphone jacks don't exist anymore and if even a tiny amount of dirt gets in the port's barely usable and near-impossible to sufficiently clean to fix the issue
