News, governance, and politics in and around Culpeper County, Virginia. Let's see how this goes.
Democrats in the General Assembly released their proposed 2026 redistricting map. It would likely result in a 10 D - 1 R delegation in Congress. Culpeper Co remains in CD7, but Dale City, where Rep Eugene Vindman lives, appears to flip into a revamped CD1.

Aaron Parnas is putting forth a truly heroic effort to single-handedly plow through the millions of pages of Epstein documents. Look for his daily - almost hourly - Substack updates on what he's finding.

Are military alliances worthless? SSG Michael Ollis, 24, is receiving a posthumous Medal of Honor for saving the life of a Polish officer while fighting insurgents in Afghanistan in 2013. He placed himself between the enemy and the wounded Pole when the enemy's suicide vest detonated.

States that ban or restrict 287(g) cooperation (which requires state law enforcement to operate under the direction or control of fed immigration) include CA, OR, WA, IL, NJ, CO, and now VA. MD is considering legislation to follow suit. Active 287(g) states are TX, FL, GA, and WI.
February 5, 2026 at 12:21 PM
Gov Spanberger has ordered all state law enforcement agencies to cancel any partnership agreements with federal immigration authorities. Former Gov Youngkin had required such so-called 287(g) cooperation, which deputized state officers to conduct federal immigration enforcement.

What's good for TX is good for CA. SCOTUS has ok'd CA redistricting, just as it did that in the Lone Star State. Fight's on!

Bloomberg reports that allUS District Attorney offices are ordered to organize teams to deploy as needed to areas that are short-staffed and overloaded. Gee, wonder why there's a lawyer shortage. 🤔

I addition to the released documents sparking Scotland Yard inquiries, the govts of Lithuania & Poland are using Epstein info to begin investigating their own citizens and Epstein perhaps running a "honey pot" operation on behalf of Russian intelligence. El Gordo wants us to move on - "nothing here"

Honest Tom announces 700 feds to leave MN immediately. That's like transferring all of Minneapolis's and half of St Paul's police forces out of state. And that still leaves 2000 feds on the ground there. Don't get distracted! RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES!
February 4, 2026 at 3:18 PM
What little we have of the EPSTEIN FILES has led Scotland Yard to investigate former UK ambassador Peter Mandelson for leaking inside information to Jeffrey. If proved, he could spend life in jail. RELEASE THE REST!

The Republican Party of Virginia is having to conclave in person to elect a new chair. A Zoom meeting was scuttled when doubts about the validity of remote voting came up. Seems rank-and-file GOPers can't trust their own to run a secure election. BTW, Cameron Hamilton is not one of the candidates.

El Gordo is bored with Epstein, so he orders his personal, taxpayer-paid law firm, the DOJ, to move on and start prosecuting Democrats, or something. Will you let him? Stiffen Congress's spine. Contact your legislators and insist on more action. RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES!
February 3, 2026 at 1:34 AM
El Gordo exploded over Trevor Noah's Epstein Island joke at the Grammys. More lawsuits! Oh, my. The vehemence of the reaction appears to be yet another indication of just how touchy Epstein is to our Beloved Dear Leader. 3 million out, and 3 million to go. What's in there? RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES!

ProPublica has identified Border Patrol agent Jesus Ochoa and CBP officer Raimundo Guttierrez as the men who shot Alex Pretti in Minneapolis last week. Ochoa joined the BP in 2018, and Guttierrez signed up in 2014. Like Jonathan Ross, all are long-tenured and presumed to be fully trained. Say what?
February 2, 2026 at 1:05 AM
That release, by the way, was a botched effort itself. Improper redactions are popping up everywhere, with survivors identified and El Gordo obscured. And why did Elon want to visit Jeffrey's Fantasy Island?
January 31, 2026 at 12:30 PM
Two DOZEN agents were needed to arrest Don Lemon? Two dozen? We're they drawn from Ms Smith's first grade class? That should have required no more than two. This is an example of regime fear and weakness. And it's an attempt to divert attention from the Epstein release.
January 31, 2026 at 12:27 PM
DOJ opens "a standard civil rights investigation" into Alex Pretti's execution. Does anybody believe that this is anything more than an additional attempt to muscle Minnesota out of the way? I sure don't.
January 31, 2026 at 12:00 AM
So, 3 million pages and a boatload of video and photos. Let's see what was redacted and what wasn't. Has DOJ really RELEASED THE EPSTEIN FILES?
January 30, 2026 at 10:04 PM
The FBI, along with other federal agencies, is trying hard to cow Americans into obedience to The Great Master (aka El Gordo) by arresting Don Lemon. Arrest warrants against him were twice rejected by magistrate judges. The feds apparently found someone more pliant for the third.

Adolf Hitler: 5'9"
Bonito Mussolini: 5'7"
Greg Bovino: 5'4"
Napoleon Bonaparte: 5'3"

Greg squeaks it out by a hair.

El Gordo has appointed Colin McDonald to head a new DOJ division dedicated to "rooting out fraud." Hmm...Seems a pretty easy reach. Start with DOJ itself and their continuing "deceit, trickery, or sharp practice" in continuing to violate the Epstein Transparency Act? There's no place like home.
January 29, 2026 at 8:23 PM
Has anyone looked under the couch cushions for the Epstein files?
January 29, 2026 at 1:08 PM
Even the DHS initial internal review of agents' body cams mirrors civilian videos of Alex Pretti's execution. It tosses the statements made by ICE Barbie, il piccolo Mussolini, and the Hillbilly VP into the trash bin.

Does this mean that there may still be a ghost of integrity lurking around DHS?
January 29, 2026 at 1:07 PM
You want an "activist judge"? Jack Hurley, in Tazewell Co, although he gave Rs & Ds until next week to present arguments, issued his ruling on redistricting hours after the state Senate voted to remove the case to Richmond. Judge shopping at its finest. No news of the next move.
January 29, 2026 at 12:59 PM
Still waiting on the Epstein files (Violation Day 41 and counting). Republicans are betting Dems fold over govt shutdown. DHS funding is at issue. Vance compared Iraq veteran Sen (LTC) Tammy Duckworth, PhD, to Forrest Gump. DHS investigates itself in the Pretti execution. It's Wednesday at the WH.
