Felix eyed him, his frown deepening. “Boar,” he said by way of greeting. “You look terrible.” “Good morning to you too.” “When was the last time you slept?” Felix barrelled on, undaunted. He didn’t bother waiting for an answer before turning his attention on Dedue. “Did he even go to bed last night?” “His Majesty remained in his office all night,” Dedue answered without hesitation. “I do not believe he slept at all.” Dimitri tried not to sigh as Felix launched into a rant. He was happy that two of his closest friends now got along. Truly! However, he dearly wished that their comradery would focus on anything other than badgering him. On the other side of Felix, Sylvain grinned. “If you’re going to stay up all night anyway, you might as well find a more…pleasant way to pass your time,” he said, speaking over Felix’s lecture. Sylvain looked back at the knight trailing them. “Don’t you agree, Sir Byleth?”

#wipwednesday because i know it's still wednesday in the west so this is totally fair game: have some dimilix from my blbb fic :--)
As the young prince, Dimitri was saddled with royal classes and training. After the Tragedy of Duscur and the subsequent death of his father, the king, the workload only doubled, and his attachment to food was all but severed. He would forget to eat, or rest, and Felix remembers their days in the monastery, how he hears his retainer beg Dimitri to do either lest he collapses. The military would love that, Felix thinks. A soldier who is peerless in combat and needs little to no resources. And yet, it’s unfortunate, the creature Dimitri has become. “Your memory is as sharp as ever,” Dimitri concedes. “At the very least, I am not a picky eater, unlike you. You used to pawn off your vegetables to me whenever you had the chance.” “So you remember. Maybe you’re still human deep inside after all.” Felix plays it off sarcastically, but he is relieved Dimitri can still find it in himself to banter.

I cheated a lil bit and reworked a sentence because I only had 'money' adjacent words: cost, expense, loan, things like that. No 'money' to be seen! 😂

Been plugging away at my #blbb fic.

Dorothea’s lower lip stuck out in an unamused pout. “I’m not a spy.” He cracked a knowing grin. “That’s exactly what a spy would say.” She turned away, cheeks flushed a pale pink, which certainly didn’t help convince him otherwise. “Full disclosure,” she began, “I’ve heard a few rumors about you. So my first impressions are a little bit biased.” “Me? Really?” “Yes. Surely you aren’t surprised? Sylvain Gautier, ace Relic pilot, has quite the reputation for being a heartbreaker.” She was correct, of course; he was hardly surprised that people talked. He just hadn’t expected it to come up this soon, if at all. There was something odd—and oddly flattering—about a woman as famous as Dorothea knowing about someone as inconsequential, relatively speaking, as him. “Mm. Right.” “Do you deny the rumors?” she asked, resting her chin against her knuckles. Was there any point? The stories had truth to them, however much he regretted some of his past actions—however much he’d tired of that behavior in recent years, especially with how aggressive the Agarthans had gotten. Besides—if he wanted to coax Dorothea into being honest, he may as well set an example to follow. “No. I’m a flirt,” he admitted. “A slut, if you want to get aggressive about it.” He paused, observing the way Dorothea’s expression shifted. She was difficult to read, but she seemed to be considering his choice of words carefully. “And I’ve been known to break a few hearts,” he continued. “It’s bound to happen when everyone has their eyes on you. Maybe you can relate?” Sylvain didn’t try to read all the trashy gossip columns that popped up on his newsfeed, but sometimes he couldn’t resist a juicy headline or enticing photograph. Dorothea Arnault breaks off her third engagement in two years. Dorothea Arnault spotted carousing with high rollers in Derdriu’s Upper Quarter. Dorothea Arnault makes public statement regarding rowdy fan caught violating restraining order. “Maybe I can,” she said. There was an odd resignation in her tone, hints of what might’ve been guilt or regret. He’d asked the question playfully, but now he couldn’t help wondering what else they might have in common. “Don’t worry, though,” he started, almost sincere, unsure how to feel about the way the tension in her shoulders eased just the tiniest bit in the wake of those three little words. “I would never break your heart, Dorothea.” For once, he entertained the idea of actually meaning it. She scrunched her nose in disbelief, her bright green eyes crinkling as her lips curled into a wry smile. “That’s exactly what a heartbreaker would say.”
