The weather has been warm here, and this pumpkin is growing FAST. It's as tall as my forearm, and as large in diameter as my shoe. If you want a chance to win, lock in your guess on the weight of this pumpkin! All proceeds help fund our weekly outreach program!

Neighbors, Pumpkins, and Pokemon: Building Support Together
Joyce has been busy supporting our neighbors in all kinds of ways—from providing propane and phone service to picking up essentials and supplies for outreach. Alongside her efforts, we’ve got a fun surprise growing in the yard: a giant pumpkin that started as a kindergarten project! We’re inviting everyone to guess its final weight in our pumpkin raffle. Plus, thanks to sales from my personal Pokémon, Lorcana, and Star Wars cards, we’ve been able to build a small emergency buffer to keep outreach going strong.

Outreach didn’t happen this week — life and exams got in the way. But with the recent Mt. Rainier earthquake swarm, I’ve been thinking a lot about preparedness, and how we care for each other when the ground shifts.

When təqʷuʔməʔ Stirs: a Call to Plan
Outreach was paused this week due to illness and exams, but our focus shifted to something just as vital: preparedness. With recent earthquake swarms near Mt. Rainier (təqʷuʔməʔ), we reflect on the mountain’s power, its cultural meaning, and what disaster planning looks like for our community.

Small Victories & Big Uncertainties: This Week’s Outreach Update
This week’s outreach update comes with a mix of celebration and concern. We caught up with a few neighbors over pizza and heard some incredible news from Sheryl, who moved indoors nearly two years ago — she’s starting college! 🎓 While we cheer her on, we’re also watching troubling developments in state and federal budgets that could impact housing and health services for our community. Read on for more and learn how you can advocate for continued support.

As the weather begins to change and warm in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, volunteers have begun to think about what supplies can be distributed as the propane program winds down for the summer. If you have any good leads for donations of shoes, we would love to hear about them!
