I'm thinking about National Poetry Month this April and starting to plan a book display. Who are some of your favorite poets? Who inspires you? Is there a collection of poems that you turn to regularly. Thanks!

Mending the Nation (ILLUZZI) "The Oath Keepers’ Declaration is disturbing. It calls its followers to war against the state. It suggests God is on their side. The stakes are almost apocalyptic, with failure resulting in enslavement, pillaging, and death. "

Remember when the leader of Cuba gave hours long screeds to tell the story of how important he was to his country’s success? Before the internet so information travelled differently. Just some loud guy on an island.

"Ah, the deeper I spin
Ah, the hunter will sin for your ivory skin.
Took a drive in the dirty rain
To a place where the wind calls your name
Under the trees, the river laughing at you and me.
Hallelujah! Heaven's white rose
The doors you open I just can't close."

Just finished watching "The Return of the King", the last of Pete Jackson's Lord of the Rings movie. Following our heroes in their effort to save Middle Earth was exhausting! Let's hope we don't have to face Sauron anytime soon.

Saw the Venezuelan boat destroyed on tv today. Hard to shake the death caused by government action. It feels like an opening shot into a new age. But also part of violent history. Trying to build peace within my community.
