When working with Baker & Hill, I was tasked with studying and emulating the textures and shapes of Genndy Tartakovsky's backgrounds from Samurai Jack. This resulted in the background illustrations below that were later used for the animated kids series "Weird But True" by Nat Geo. #backgroundartist

As many of you know, our pets are our family. Recently, we said goodbye to our first Pacman Frog, Dollop. Despite vet visits, medication, and multiple scans, we learned his symptoms were caused by a brain tumor that had revealed itself. We made the difficult choice to let him go peacefully. #petloss

The artwork that came out of this experience at Happy Time Studio was incredible, and there was so much joy in the room as I taught kids how to pet, hold, and draw a bearded dragon! We made a fantastical creature with an exquisite corpse game and drew fantasy dragons to wrap up the night!

We saw the sketch last week, now check out the final concept piece as part of a Character Design Workshop with Devon Cady-Lee I took a few years back. While I'm not a fan of the stiff pose, I can appreciate the overall study.

I've minimally delved into animation by illustrating layered character puppets for Baker & Hill. Here's an example of how I was able to layer my files and break down the body into movable sections before sending it to the animator. #cartoonstyle #animation #astronaut #digitalart #illustration
