Jo Ann Allen Boyce, one of the courageous “Clinton 12,” has died at 84. Before attending Clinton High School, she had to walk past it daily to bus 20 miles to a segregated high school, until she was selected as one of 12 children in Anderson County to attend the formerly all-white Clinton in 1956.

... when there can still be an issue. If someone mentions their culture, why assume that it is not merit. If anything, certain cultures have gone through a lot and still succeed. Just because people have needed to stick together because of historical attacks, mistreatment, and more...

Yes, progress has been made but certain circles and systems still pass down prejudices and racism. Also, there are still instances where people use or force one Black person to try to cover up everything they did currently or in the past to try to make the appearance that there is not an issue...

Just because you may have not personally experienced racism does not mean that it does not exist. It can happen behind closed doors, as microaggressions, or as trying to purposely cause issues towards certain people.
