Re: the video from Chicago released today: the goons were in an unmarked suv with no lights. The people in the red suv had no reason to believe their pursuers were anything other than random psychos. This is so incredibly dangerous.

Just a reminder that the reason they're acting like there will be no reckoning for their actions is that they don't ever plan to give up power, one way or another.

I wonder if the big difference between millenial and Gen z relationship with 'the internet' is millenials believe that "the internet is not real life" for better or worse. Gen z has only ever known a world with the internet (and social media) so their perception is different. Boomers are just dumb.

Looking back, I think the turning point for all these intellectual dork web guys was when they started extoling the virtues of not-true-but-useful over, yknow, actual truths. The Weinsteins started it but it infected all of them and gave them the moral framework to obfuscate and lie.

They say Colbert was losing money. Fine. Understandable. 90% of the show is a waste of time. Nobody gives a shit about celebrity guests anymore. Get rid of the theater, cut it down to 25 minutes, put it on youtube, sell sponsor slots, and adapt to the new reality.

I enjoy watching those videos on YouTube where some guy cleans up an overgrown sidewalk as much as anyone but... There's something kind of fucked up about taking pleasure in watching a big patch of green get cut down and replaced by grey concrete underneath. Is it really an improvement?
