And now, many of us veterans (I'm a 2x USN vet and member of the American Legion) are watching our VA access and services be cut in the "war against DEI" (women, minorities, etc.), and facing the possibility of losing our disability payments, which will outright kill vets.
It's a terrifying time.

A total shut-off will outright kill vets who depend on life-saving medications and equipment on a monthly basis. The rest of us will either lose all or have to fight for crumbs from the VA.

Ha. Yea, then imagine all the anti-vaxxers and "natural living" people screaming about how you "altered my DNA" and "changed who I am to suit your 'woke' needs" and all the other results pushing their corrupted IQs into enhanced-IQ mode, as they invented new conspiracy theories to suit their needs.
The frustration comes from knowing that we only have a short time, and there is no way that people are going to be smarter in your lifetime.

I've been taking steps since last year to start protecting things like family photographs and paperwork by scanning them (digital files)--because I can easily picturing Trump's new Gestapo breaking in, throwing things around, stealing things, then burning what's left.

Yesterday, when Bovino announced ICE would be returning to Little Village today, some of us donated and fundraised to buy out street vendors in the neighborhood. This morning, volunteers hit the streets at 6:30 am, looking for vendors to buy out. Tamales make an excellent breakfast.

Time and again, the VA has failed to do this. The entire property at Sawtelle / Brentwood in Los Angeles was donated specifically for veterans' housing, but this has been denied for decades.
Instead of funneling endless amounts of money into our bloated Pentagon budget while thousands of veterans face homelessness and hunger, let’s use those funds to truly take care of our veterans — ensuring every one has a home, food, and access to medical and mental health care.
