I'm tempted to start carrying mine, and I'm U.S.-born, my parents were U.S.-born, my grandparents were U.S.-born etc.
But I have a Hispanic last name.

This is certainly the message that we need to have our politicians and celebrities sending out to the world. Clearly, the current administration can't demonstrate anything resembling diplomacy or intelligence. It's time for everyone else to step up to defend the U.S. on the world stage.

This is us on a local level in the United States. Any world/national news isn't wanted, and when it doesn't fit our agenda, we laugh at it, mock it, deny it, dismiss it, and completely dissociate ourselves. There's no connect-the-dots understanding. No "it could happen to me" acknowledgement. 3/3
I put this on my local news Facebook page comment section, and two distinct remarks came up: one, that it had nothing to do with the story I posted it under (aside from the Trump connection) and two, nobody cares. That is saying: nobody cares to get news the media isn't already feeding them. 2/3
