I wanted to play a game so badly I made characters for every subclass. With all the character sheets and notes I'd need to play any at a moment's notice. Years later I lost most of my TTRPG related notes, including everything I had prepared for that game. Still hoping to play the game eventually.

The genre I write the best, is the genre I want to avoid the most. I've tried to focus on my favorite genre and it's taking me forever to write anything. More of my abusers are becoming successful authors. The worst abuser is the most successful, and that's in the genre I'm avoiding the most.

I get this when I'm organizing. I try to remember which ones were next to which and keep them together, so they don't lose their friends.

Nor do we see diagnosis as validating. Being diagnosed with ADHD directly lead to us growing up in conversion therapy.

Those who make a big thing about diagnosis being positive don't tend to show up to make a difference for survivors like me/us.

I/we don't want diagnosis anyways.

Some systems are born plural. Some identify as endogenic for that reason.

We are valid. We don't need trauma to be valid, and we are endogenic.

I/we are the Bit Rebellious Lapidarym. I/we grew up in conversion therapy.

I/we were tortured for saying "we" but still don't qualify for diagnosis.

It is hard to make a difference on that. In high school, I had to read Hamlet and Oedipus back to back in English class. They both had a similar experience to me, but the way it was discussed in class... the teacher missed a chance to make students like me feel safe enough to talk about it.

To all the self-proclaimed allies telling me NY is the safest place for trans people:

The exact type of conversion therapy I grew up in is not only legal in my home state, (NY) it's illegal for insurance companies not to cover it.

Don't forget the long history of ABA being gay conversion therapy. (The UCLA Feminine Boy Project in 1970s)

I'm a trans man that grew up within ABA, being tortured for being trans for years before autism diagnosis.

NY State eventually passed a law to require insurance to pay for ABA done that way.

As a CSA survivor myself, thanks, most don't talk about these things.

But also, sometimes it's the parents.

Queer history needs to include survivors/casualties of conversion therapy (under all it's names).

ABA is conversion therapy. Always was, the two are indistinguishable.

I'm trans. I was tortured for being trans for years (within ABA) before being diagnosed with PDDNOS (a type of autism in DSM 4).

Since it's ace week, I want to say that while I was already a survivor of conversion therapy when I came out as ace, I am also a survivor as an ace. As in, the same old gay conversion therapy tactics were used on me (by "professionals") to erase my (a)sexuality. Even in queer run "safe spaces."

Gay conversion therapy never stopped. Born in NY State in the 90s, grew up in gay conversion therapy since a toddler. School district paid for significant amounts of conversion therapy for me throughout my childhood. Insurance required by NY State to cover it went into effect when I was a teenager.

I don't know if it's still a thing but there used to be an annual game jam (Train Jam) event that was on a long (52 hour) train ride.

For example, if a parent claims their child needs it to "fix" the "behavioral issues" caused by their gender dysphoria, at most they would have to prove their kid was diagnosed with gender dysphoria, have a conversion therapist sign off on it and then their insurance can't refuse to pay for it.

I keep telling myself there's no point in talking about it until I finish it. About several things I have yet to finish after years.

I'm writing a Fantasy LitRPG novel and an original TTRPG system specifically for the universe my novel takes place in.

Nophek Gloss by Essa Hansen. Space opera with some of the best trans representation I've seen in sci-fi. The author is a sound designer, and the audiobook surprised me in the best way.
