Fantastic to see a Turtle Dove today at Halforth Farm. Flew into a sycamore on the strong westerly wind, and gave nice views for a short time before heading off strongly east. Common Tern in area along with the long staying Black Terns.

Trying to ID this call heard on Saturday night at about 22:40 in Kendal, Cumbria? Heard 4-5 times calling as it headed north quite close. Single call at 19 seconds. Sought advise locally, but no conclusive ID #nocmig #ukbirding

A December Whimbrel near Brigsteer, Cumbria this morning was great to find #cumbriabirds. First time I've seen one in winter. 4 Whoopers were more expected in the valley.

Trawling round Brigsteer in the rain and found 20 Blackwit and 3 Ruff in flooded fields with gulls. Wouldn't expect them to be so approachable with all the passing walkers, but the rain worked to my advantage. Green Sand and 90plus Snipe on Park End NT when the sun 🌞 came out.
