this is a good reminder of how things that are shitty but have been accepted as normal and inevitable can actually turn out to be abnormal and evitable with some science, time, education and political will

ray tracing is mid but DLSS is really nice ever since version 4 came out. I can use it on my older RTX card and it's literally just free frames while not looking any worse than TAA.

are we? I can't think of a single game with mandatory ray tracing. it's also not exclusive to the most expensive top-tier cards anymore, my GPU has RT cores and came out 6 years ago. you can easily find used ones for less than $300 these days.

No man, I'm not. I just don't feel too bad for anyone that was murdering people's sons and fathers in Iraq or Afgh, or directly helping to do so, if they never faced justice for it. being a UK combat veteran should be a point of deep shame.

so I guess I share your frustration but for slightly different reasons, it drives me up the wall when people get distracted trying to ban things like 30rd magazines or 3D printed glock parts instead of just requiring strict federal licensing, a national firearns registry, and banning gun shows etc

I'm pretty sure in some states it already is, but that honestly doesn't mean shit for stopping mass shootings or other acts of violence that people don't intend to get away with. Better regulations on the sale of LEGAL firearms are more important than a wild goose chase against ghost guns
