I guess the downside of living with your best friend is that when you drink too much and make an ass out of yourself, it's pretty hard to hide. I can't stay locked in my room forever.

As expected, Jayce has been sulking since we got here. Still, I’m glad there’s at least one person here I really know. People have been pretty nice, but it’s different from having an actual friend.

We were both annoying know it all teens. I found a post online when I was maybe thirteen or fourteen of someone bragging about this complex equation they’d solved, posted their work and everything. I’ll admit, I was impressed…until I realized they’d forgotten to carry a two halfway through.

He’s calmed down a little by now, but he spent a good 10-15 minutes sulking. He kept sighing then looking at me like he expected me to cave and say he’s right even though he definitely isn’t.

I was not expecting to work closely with Viktor at the company, but there's plenty of opportunity and 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥, as I understand it. It makes sense. It would be difficult to design and build equipment without input from the more biology-minded side of things. His input is already the reason I'm here.

I know that this week is largely just for getting acquainted with the job and settling in, but I still find myself excited to be heading back to the lab. I’m eager to get my hands dirty.
