One perk of walking and biking around instead of driving:

It's much, much easier to get shaken down by Girl Scouts selling cookies. I've never bought so many boxes! 😂

I've scaled back my social media usage/presence significantly over the past few weeks, and it's one wonders for both my mental and physical health.

I've been rediscovering ways to be active (such as taking the bus and walking to work), reading, and being more intentional with my time.

Seriously if you are nondisabled CALL YOUR REPS.

We need you to help speak up with us right now. So badly.

I rely on telehealth for my care now. I can’t use stairs anymore, so leaving home is dangerous and painful.

I also lack the spoons to be as active as I want & need to be:

I need your help.

There’s such a huge well of good things happening at the local level, wherever you are.

Despite the national elections not going the way I wanted them to, it’s been so great to see things improve in my city. Go where the helpers are!

Nearly every apartment or townhouse built today will be branded as "luxury," never mind that these units are often vastly cheaper than the single-family homes they replace.

Really thoughtful thread here with useful concrete details
This is an excellent summary of where Democrats went wrong with public safety. To the extent that crime mattered in recent US elections, it hurt Democrats, despite the fact that the most serious crime, i.e. homicides and shootings, declined on their watch. Why? Look below.
Part Two of the Common Sense Democrat manifesto — it’s not progressive or humane to become so leery of punishment that you let public spaces and public services become disorderly, dysfunctional, and unpleasant.

I have quite a few friends who want kids but are stuck being single. Dating apps are a disaster. Traditional ways of meeting people have diminished. Sad and frustrating. Wish we had a clear way to fix it.
