Earlier this week I posted a Sergio Mendes & Brasil ‘66 record, Stillness that I had never seen before. We’ll count me equally surprised to find out there was a Brasil 86 released as a solo effort in that title’s year 🤷🏻♂️

On #hornyhumpday we’re giving some credit to the LA Express for providing uncredited horns on this 70s gem from Sanford and Townsend, Smoke From A Distant Fire. I bet our host @stylus66.bsky.social knows the L.A. Express were probably best known as the backing band for Tom Scott #nowspinning

This deer came by the front yard yesterday evening and just hung out nibbling stuff off the ground for about 20 minutes. Another 5 and we were considering names. My 8-year old suggested John…get it dad, John Deer? Then Doc chimed in, unless it’s a her and then maybe John Doe 🙄

I’m aware Uncle Remus is problematic. But from a record collector standpoint this was a FIND! While cleaning I read “issued with insert of cut out paper dolls” and immediately dismissed the chance of them being in the sleeve BUT voila! Only 38 copies on Discogs, so it’s scarce I say #records

I’m taking creative liberties with #hornyhumpday today, I hope @stylus66.bsky.social won’t mind the latitude. This Flute Music of The Andes album is uncredited to any specific artist but the pictures and descriptions of the flutes are much more horn-like even if the sound is clearly woodwind.
