When enough people can’t get a mortgage, property values crash.
When property values crash, the effects could cascade into an economy-wide recession like we saw in 2008.

Democrats can use the Congressional Review Act to force votes on many Trump regulatory actions. A decision by Senate Republicans could widen the opportunity.

Some Republicans want to overrule the Parliamentarians & gut California’s Clean Air Act waivers.
They’re trying to claim this is a narrow exception, but make no mistake, they plan to go nuclear. Put bluntly: there is no cabining a decision to overrule the Parliamentarians.

I'm gratified that the Senate Parliamentarian held today that the Senate will continue to rely on GAO’s determinations about whether agency actions qualify for fast-track disapproval under the Congressional Review Act. This is a victory for both California's clean air standards and Senate procedure.
Today, the Senate parliamentarian reaffirmed that CA's vehicle emissions standards are not subject to the Congressional Review Act—a win for anyone who values clean air and affordable cars.

Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner and Chair of the FEC. There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it. I've been so fortunate to serve the American people and stir up some good trouble along the way. That's not changing anytime soon.
