I'm more comfortable riding in sub-30°F weather than when I read the news.

Morning started out at 0°F (-18°C), but I'm betting the snow will be slush on my bike ride home from work. It's 45°F now. Climate change seems to effect intense meteorological mood swings.

Long Winter Shadow:
Temps finally above zero, sunrise on the new snow in the Rockies, eagle perched in a tree above the trail, flags still hung at half-staff for President Jimmy Carter, temp at 19°F (-7°C), 5 mph tailwind on my ride to work, icy streets in town. 'Tis a privilege to live in my town.

With temperatures dropping consistently below 0°F since Friday, often with winds at 24mph, not sure how these critters survive. Tougher than I am. First week in a year I didn't ride my bicycle to work.

Costco should be enforcing limits.
