Nerdy librarian dad.
Eric Schmidt can fuck right off. Amount of work does not equal quality of work, and quite frankly I can’t actually think of anything truly valuable Google has created that isn’t a version of something someone else already pioneered. Not to mention all the innovation crushed through buyouts.
Ex–Google CEO Eric Schmidt warns U.S. tech workers: Competing with China’s grueling 12-hour workdays means sacrificing work-life balance | Fortune
Schmidt, who served as CEO from 2001 to 2011, has some thoughts on the China-style “996” work ethic.

So Target is appropriately noting that backlash from their walking back DEI initiatives is part of their market performance failures. However, their proposed solutions never mention restoring DEI initiatives. I am not sure Target is actually taking their issues in the market seriously.

@tinabuttz.bsky.social The 8-4 Play podcast is the only way I remember that your last name isn’t Buttz. Also, it’s why I keep absent-minded thinking your last name is Buttz.

Well, crap. Sorry folks. This is not a super active account and it’s mostly just for fun for me, despite me having strong feelings about important issues from time to time. If you’re here from one post that took off I apologize for how few others there are and likely will be.

@shivambhatt.bsky.social Enjoyed you almost taking over Retronauts with Attack and Dethrone God pt. 2. You should check out the XZR/Exile series. I think it might tickle your religious fancy. Also short games.

It is challenging to introduce the kid to Harry Potter (games and movies, not the books) but also emphasize the creator is a POS (and explaining why). At least the games and movies benefit many creative forces, not just a singular bad one.

Does anyone know of any newer Christmas or general winter holiday tunes that aren’t processed pop garbage? You know, stuff with melody and musicality and sing-along-ability?

If you see this, quote with your first ever anime.

I’m going with the first I remember encountering, even though I had no idea it was anime at the time.

Grocery store musings: why is it so hard to find regular, fresh spinach? I don’t want frozen and I don’t want baby spinach. The real deal is so hard to find.

@gregstolze.bsky.social just listened to the SWADW ep of Ludonarrative Dissonance. Curious which SWADE PDF edition you had. PEG recently kickstarted a new anniversary ed that is out now in PDF. Keen to know if the issues with organization of the game book are of the latest PDF or the one before.
