Why do programmers make great entrepreneurs?

Because it is imprinted in their psyche early on that:

1) When a system doesn’t function properly it's always the responsibility of its designer

2) No matter how many excuses you come up with to feel better, the outcome won’t change
Not only it has to be an amazing idea.
Not only it has be a monetizable idea.
Not only it has to be an idea that gets you pumping.

It has to be a so-genius-idea that conservative/normal people will laugh at it. 💡

Sister Rosetta Tharpe. A true Rock n' Roll pioneer. She was born two years before my grandmother. Color me impressed! 🤘🎸

They skip the only question that matters:

“Why would this problem require THIS approach?”

Not “why us instead of them.”
But “why THIS at all.”

By far the hardest day of the year for all hosting companies is Black Friday. It is the ultimate stress test for any server.

Yet, we @happybyte.gr got 100% uptime this year as well on all our servers. Feels great to power the healthiest part of the Greek economy. 💯 🎉

Few of those people see the wall. Only a handful even notice the door.

IKEA hit products like SKOGSFRÄKEN, FJÄLLHAVRE & FJALLBRACKA are living proof that we have all wasted tons of money on "perfect" domains for nothing.

Let's also not forget that Yahoo & Google dominated the early internet with names that would fit better books for 5 year olds.

AI art proved 95% of people know nothing about art or how to appreciate it.

If your answer to a new art piece is "is this AI or human?" then you missed the point of evaluating the end result regardless of who/what made it.

10 years ago I was in a situation where I had stopped learning and had stalled professionally. I started to force myself to learn new things, bit by bit. It worked.

It becomes a pleasant habit. Like a trained muscle which you enjoy using at the gym.

Life is constantly changing. And so should we.

I used my time machine to go to 2525. Took their tech and went back to 1725 to show it to people.

You bet they were shocked.

Sam Altman admits OpenAI is in trouble after Gemini 3 release in a leaked memo, per The Information.

OpenAI is projected to lose $7B by 2028. They're burning $8.5B a year trying to compete.

Google has YouTube, Search, Gmail, Maps, and Android. Billions of users. No other company has that combo.

The world needs desperately a "gif with sound" file format.

Nobody made one for years because there is no profit to be made. Human nature for ya people! 🤷‍♂️

Don't you just love how the *only* answer to crime, is taking people's rights away?

The innocent law-abiding citizens must lose their rights because criminals exist. As if there was ever a time without criminals. Even in the most suppressive regimes ever.

It's autumn, leaves are nice, I like green.

Therefore I made some new wallpapers. Downloads coming "soon".

Never "just" start building a product. Instead, talk to companies first and try to figure out some frequent problems they are having AND are willing to pay money to solve.

Build painkillers, not vitamins. Find real problems. Only then you should build solutions for them.

a) This is the ScreenBar Pro in action. Turn off all other lights and get in the "flow". So far it feels pretty cool.

b) Of course I have a Scottish castle just in case English ants try to attack my monitor. You can't see it in the picture but there are Scottish archer ants there, patrolling 24/7.

Indeed, the "thing" has arrived.

Every time I visit my parent's house, I see the sharp contrast between people who grew up without "digital" and me/us.

Their TV is on 24/7, always reading newspapers and checking the tablet. They use content to fight boredom.

The same content I try hard to escape from.

Apple's trade-in is now offering me 260€ for the Macbook Air which I paid 1.800€ for, 4 years ago. Aka around 15% of it. No, thank you.

Moral of the story. Never "future-proof" your hardware people. Only buy what you need, when you need it. Anything more, and you lose monyz.

Some nice people at BenQ made a light for your computer monitor which sheds light onto your keyboard, so you can turn off all other lights in the room and focus.

Of course I'm ordering one today and telling you all about it when it arrives.

Contrary to my previous pov & sayings, I now strongly believe that a new "golden age" in computing is coming and there will be a HUGE demand in programming jobs "soon".

There will be huge demand for people who can programm custom AI systems in the near future.
