Keeping an eye on Barrie City Council – Marg Delahunty meets Kady O'Malley, but with less talent and more f-bombs (and zero budget).

It's political satire, duckies!

Cheers, muffins! The manservants and I are positively DELIGHTED that BlueSkyLand has finally enabled posting in threads, because that was the ONLY thing previously keeping us from migrating from the place-that-was-once-a-birdland-but-now-is-a-vile-cesspool-of-ick.

Look, I thread: 1/7

usual stuff, and then plan for more Some might be possible in spring of 2026 or fall, but depends on capacity.

Kungl - do you want us to start to identify our wish lists?

Banfield - data-sharing is helpful. We get a lot from Service Barrie as well. Also public survey recently. Will be able to

Banfield - 2026 you'll get the normal, seasonal traffic calming - cushions, radar boards, planters, bollards, etc. Those we already have and can put them out each year. But we have some additional funds, so need to have a broader plan - take a look more comprehensively. Suggest we do all the

Enquiries?

Kungl - we aren't back to late January, starting to see info coming around our traffic calming assets. We added more funding per ward for traffic calming for 2026 budget. Is there a timeline for decisions on that?

We'll make the decisions in 2026 but likely not implemented until 2027?

Thomson - typically I don't like to waive the procurement bylaw (!), but in this case, it's a piece of equipment we've been using, entered into the lease agreement last year as part of risk management. This would save the city between $100 & $150K.

officials. So it's to look for some flexibility to provide options – the actual compensation is the same, there would be no change.
December 11, 2025 at 2:42 AM
Courser - would like some clarification for people at home of why this is necessary?

Prowse - at last term, direction was given to include mayor in pension plan - was well-intended, but OMERS plan is built for long-term municipal employees, not for what is typically a shorter term for elected
