I have two modes of working

Hoodie mode: Warm cozy but smash the bugs/laptop to get things done

Blanket mode: Warm cozy and empathetic during code/system design reviews & meetings

It's time for day 11 of #blogvent!

I wrote about the vibes around developer relations, a bit about what you can do to hire and structure a dev rel org well, and other various opinions 🧠

As half my timeline is currently posting from #reinvent, please allow me to rant about a topic I care deeply about: swag.

Taking a male cut t-shirt, changing nothing about it other than maybe printing a few extra XS sizes, and calling it “unisex” is not, in fact, unisex.

Lately, I have been meeting a lot of skilled creatives,
if there is one thing common across all of them

they all hate operations
hindering them from monetizing their skills

they also hate exchanging freedom for money
again hindering them from monetizing their skills

I wish someone had told me that silence is a signal and that no feedback is feedback. I learned it the hard way.

As Software Engineers, sometimes we are clouded to social signals, which is a huge disadvantage when we enter the business world.

Living the laptop life so that I can do something lively.

Yesterday did a Discovery Scuba Dive

woah woah! The underwater is a magical place. Despite the fact I can't swim or float. I did it.

Thanks to my dive master buddy @sayab.bsky.social for motivating me to do this
