Wrapped up moderating the Congressional briefing and stopped by the new statue of Barbara Rose Johns before leaving the Capitol. At 16, she led the walkout that helped pave the way for Brown v. Board. It is powerful to see her standing here in Emancipation Hall.

At Union Market today we tried Egg Yaki, Chef Nicholas Martino’s omelet-pancake creation. We picked the kimchi version, which turned out to one of the best egg dishes I’ve ever had in my life: tangy, spicy, a little citrus from the yuzu mayo, and just the right crunch from garlic and shallots.
