News junkie. Democracy must be protected at all costs. Fairness for all. Proud Canadian. I'd rather be driving a Titleist.
A request to my fellow #Canadians.

If you happen to come across visitors to #Canada from the US, please be nice to them.

Most Americans bear no ill will to Canada or Canadians.

Being anything but nice & polite will only provide gist for the hate mill of their administration & make things worse.

My kiddo just discovered Sprague made in Canada canned soups and beans. I shared this Sprague story with her. My local grocery store has a hard time keeping them in stock. Delicious. Canadian. Great story. 🇨🇦

Canadians don’t buy Campbells products. I experienced a problem with their habitant brand,& after searching for assistance I called a toll free 🇨🇦 number. On hold FOREVER a woman in America answered. A reimbursement coupon was sent to me from Pennsylvania.

Moral, it’s always better to #BuyCanadian

A good thought for Dems leadership:

Your people don’t need you to be flawless.

They need you to be fearless.

If the 4 GOP representatives in Minnesota were to cross the floor to the Dems or become independents, would that flip control of the House to the Dems?

Does anyone know the count?

The tech bros and other US oligarchs are all 100% for taking over Greenland, even if the US get has to pay a trillion $ of taxpayer money to do it.

What does that tell you?

That they'll profit from it. They don't care about taxpayer money, 'cause they don't pay taxes. Taxpayers pay & they profit.

If Trump attacks Greenland, Europe may kick the US out of their European bases.

Good luck defending Israel without bases in Europe.

I wonder how much Fetterman is being paid, and by whom, to be a turn-coat?

Can you imagine how just, peaceful and harmonious the world would be without the current GOP and Putin.

Elon is rattling his sabre that the UK, Canada and Auz may ban X.

Kinda hope they do.

At one point, national governments are going to have to show the tech bros who'se boss.

I think X (Twitter) is getting worse. Yes, I still visit there a bit, but just lurk and observe.

The events of the past week have brought out what seems to be an even greater number of even more repulsive commenters.

I can't believe that there are so many vicious, cruel people in North America.

Another thought for our US neighbours:

You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.

And for the past year all the messaging and actions out of your current administration is not only vinegar, it's vinegar torqued up with threats.

One thing that would be appreciated from our American neighbours (I'm holding the word friends for a later, time, after many apologies) is that they "saved Europe" in WWI and WWII. The US joined both wars late, and in the case of WWII, only after Japan attacked Pearl Harbour at the end of 1941.

What does it say about a country when its government is the least reliable source of information?

And you want to take over other countries?

If Americans are so proud of being Americans, why do so many of them put Canadian flags on their clothes and luggage when they travel outside the US?

I hope the separatists in Alberta now realize that to sell your oil to the US, you will now have to undercut the US oil companies Venezuela sourced oil.

Maple MAGA doesn't taste quite so good tonight, does it now.
January 6, 2026 at 2:16 AM
'Ya'll should ask your house representative and Senator how much Trump's little war game in Venezuela cost the US taxpayer?

150 ships, + how many planes, troops, etc.?

All for one Capo and his wife?

WTF

GOP's are going to play this in a loop come midterms. They will crush the Dems on law-and-order if these types of things keep happening.

US politics will continue to be corrupt and elected officials will be open to bribes as long as election financing laws are not reformed. Politicians are being bought in an open market and Dems are just as corrupt as GOPs.

Canada is the long serving, faithful & supportive spouse to the US that owns half the North America house. But since the US feels the need to constantly abuse and shit on Canada, the US may not like who Canada will now end up sleeping with on its side of the house.

The US asked for this.

FAFO.
One of my neighbors thinks Canada's PM Mark Carney should tell Trump he has 30 days to seriously & reasonably negotiate trade, or face the closure of the Saint Lawrence Seaway to US shipping.

The longer the shutdown lasts, the more leverage the Democrats get. I hope they are sanguine enough to use it to extract maximum concessions from MAGA, even if it means upping the ante on their demands. Enough of only one side playing by the old rules.
