By conducting the presidential transition over private email, Trump almost certainly exposes top secret information to Russian intelligence.

This, however, is a feature, not a bug.

Trump's transition is happening over private emails. Federal officials are nervous.
Agencies are weighing in-person requirement for sensitive data.

How does the Harris / Walz campaign still have money to keep mailing me stuff? Did they just have some big legal fund they never got to spend?

Next I’m going to get a fundraising letter from Mondale / Ferraro.

Democrats have reached a level of statesmanship so profound that they no longer believe in trying to convince voters to vote for them…
Biden Cracked a Very Revealing Joke About Why Democrats Lost

No matter how you feel about AOC or the current leadership, in any other country a party that lost this badly would replace its leadership.

One reason the public doesn’t take the bad things Trump has done seriously is that Democrats don’t ACT like Trump’s conduct is a real threat. People look to Democrats’ responses to know how to interpret events, and the Democrats aren’t giving the people anything.
Sixteen things Biden, Harris & the Dems can—but would never—do in the next six weeks to stymie Trump, thwart the rise of U.S. fascism, protect the American people, and safeguard global democracy.

How on Earth are the Democrats still listening to Nancy Pelosi?

You lost to Donald Trump. People hate Donald Trump. He is not some beloved figure for most Americans. But the people no longer believe that Democrats are working for them.

And still we keep doing the same things over and over.

One reason Trump is announcing so much crazy stuff now, before he takes office, is to convince people that nothing happens when he does it.

Then, when he does the things he announced two months ago, the media will treat it like “old news” and will helpfully and obediently ignore the consequences…

When it’s this cold and barren it’s nice to remember what the garden is like in summer.

I’m glad to see a little less of the “war on Christmas” nonsense this year. After all, wishing someone happy holidays means “merry Christmas if you’re Christian, happy Hanukkah if you’re Jewish.” Demanding that people not include Jews in their well wishes is… not particularly Christ-like.

Like a patient who wants his liver cut out because he doesn’t know what it does, thinks it’s useless, and is tired of having to carry it around, the American people may soon find out why we have all the government expenditures they never bothered to understand.

I’ll be interested to see how many people voted for Trump because they supported the things he said he would do, how many because they hadn’t heard the things he said he would do, and how many because they just didn’t believe he’d actually do them.

One reason there’s a double standard in politics is that people in the media want to feel important. When the media talks about whether a decision by a Democrat is a mistake, Democrats listen. When it’s a Republican, though, Republicans don’t. So the media focuses where it expects an impact.

TRUMP: I’m going to use the FBI illegally to go after my political enemies!

BIDEN: Um, I guess I’ll pardon my son then because fuck that.

MEDIA: Biden is breaking norms!
December 3, 2024 at 7:06 PM
One side effect of breaking the norms a little by pardoning Hunter is that now attention gets paid to how many awful pardons Trump issued.

There are benefits to not silently following the norms while the other side doesn’t. If they’re gonna use false equivalence anyway… might as well do something.
December 2, 2024 at 9:43 PM
Hey, Republicans — Trump just effectively announced he’s pardoning the people who attacked cops and smeared feces on the wall of our Capitol.

That’s what you voted for, right? That’s what you stand for? Well, if not, too late, that’s who you are.
December 2, 2024 at 10:23 AM
Wow, suddenly the right cares deeply about following norms, playing by the rules, and telling the truth?

“Rules for thee but not for me” is a classic element of fascism.

But, Americans don’t care about that — so good luck to all of us!

America is an undervalued company being stripped of its assets by billionaire corporate raiders.

That’s why none of them are worried about education or environment or democracy — the US business plan isn’t to grow long term value. It’s a short term value extraction play.
