Cardboard, paper, or burlap sacks are all great alternatives to replace plastic weed suppression materials that break up into smaller and smaller pieces, contaminating the soil.

Bring a reusable dish to place leftovers in while dining out. If you’re dining out, consider bringing your own reusable containers to avoid using disposable foam, plastic, or paper containers. Even containers labeled “compostable” can contain fossil fuel-based plastic and chemicals.

Kick off the month by taking the Plastic Free July pledge and start collecting single-use plastic bags throughout the month to make a plastic bag monster (for use at rallies or other advocacy efforts) or all the single-use plastic you use for the month to make a 30-days of plastic suit.
