Journalists who report on protests establish facts of what happens; they hold both protesters and law enforcement accountable.

Arresting journalists suggests people in power want to keep the public from knowing the truth. It's easier to lie when there aren't facts.

It’s bananas to me that a judge had to order this. Lawfully admitted refugees are just that: *lawfully admitted* to this country to escape a threat.

Everything we’ve seen in Minnesota is bad, but when agents go after even those who have legal status, it reveals that this isn’t about the law.
A federal judge on Wednesday ordered federal agents to stop detaining and deporting refugees in Minnesota who were lawfully admitted to the U.S., granting a temporary restraining order, which halts for now the Trump administration’s operation. The administration is likely to appeal the ruling.

More relevant than ever. Bravery and courage is what the people on the streets in Minneapolis are doing, even amid cold, tear gas, and confirmed death of a second person shot by federal agents.
