I remember sitting on the couch in the ‘70s watching Electric Company when this came on. My mom heard it and ran in from the kitchen all excited about some guy named Tom Lehrer. A few years later they introduced me to the rest of his songs. RIP to a real one.

Nothing can get me moving faster than the sound of a cat gearing up to barf.
a cartoon character named jerry is standing on a table in front of a record player
Alt: Jerry the cartoon mouse, who has clearly heard Tom the cat barfing, running at sonic speed.

Today my father entered palliative care. I feel like I'm drowning in personal and political grief.

I don't know why I'm sharing this; I don't know you. Maybe that makes it easier?

Anyway, thanks for reading. Pictures of your adorable and derpy animals would be lovely if you're so inclined.

Remembering my first presidential vote (for Dukakis). I was in college out of state and I received an absentee ballot in the mail, containing: a paper ballot, an unbent paperclip, and a piece of styrofoam. A witness (my roommate) had to watch me vote and then sign the form.

Am I the only one who has had a hard time emotionally investing in new books or TV series since 2020? It’s getting better but it’s hard for me to emotionally invest. I tend to lean towards Ken Burns docs for comfort.
