Apologies for the lack of art lately, all the chaos from this past year finally caught up to me I think

Saw some stats for my area that only about 30-44% of active voters actually take part in the small elections (just ballot issues for us this time). I've heard variations of this kind of data all over the country for years, and it still blows my mind how few people actually vote.

I've been getting back into the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series after many years, and the most relatable part is how everyday objects like doors and elevators have been imbued with artificial intelligence and it just makes them obnoxious and frustrating to use and everyone hates it.

The struggle I have somedays where I have a certain kinds of creature design that I love, but I wonder if drawing more mainstream type creatures would open up more job opportunities

I saw a tragically AI-generated version of this poster, so I have recreated a 100% human-made version for all your protest sign needs.

Inktober sets completely unrealistic expectations regarding output. Making a complete inked drawing in one day EVERY day for a month is insane and a recipe for burnout. Don’t tie your worth to something that even professionals believe is unrealistic.
Didn't we agreed to stop romanticing Inktober a couple of years ago bc the guy running It was terrible and the trend glorifies art as content, or what happened

The more we learn about genAI the more we discover how useless it actually is
Surprise surprise, I've been saying this for years.

My new place is taking so long to get settled into because this is the most mouse poop I've ever had to clean up in my life

Also the previous residents had a kid and the whole place smells like rotting diapers and I need to figure out where that's coming from because it's so nasty

Hey internet hive mind! I'm thinking very far ahead for a christmas gift for a family member:

Cajun seasoning mix

I want to find a really legit, straight from the south, ideally small business or individual maker type source, but with flavors that will knock your socks off. Recommendations??

Just a reminder to check for your name in this list of books that OpenAI trained from. If your name is there, they probably owe you several thousand dollars.

OpenAI cried that if everyone eligible author files, the company will go bankrupt, so I'm alerting every author I have ever spoken to.

Update thread #2. Hemlock
One thing we worked on is a different tool to complement Nightshade. We discovered a new attack on diffusion models that is more generalizable than Nightshade. It targets an entirely different part of AI training pipeline, basically making AI models poison themselves.
