Ber Oomen, Executive Director European Specialist Nurses (ESNO)
@beroomen.bsky.social
Championing the growth and positioning of nurse associations in the European policy and political domain. Advocating for specialist nurses’ roles, education, and recognition to strengthen healthcare systems across Europe. #NursingLeadership www.esno.org
Fragmentation among European health NGOs is a major obstacle to meaningful progress. Where @epha-eu.bsky.social should be leveraging collective expertise and influence, we instead see power play, division, and competition, even at expense of their own credibility, effectiveness, and impact.

1/8 All countries in Europe face nursing shortages. The issue isn't so much training more, it's keeping those we have. Our new European Observatory policy brief asks what can be done (supported by Horizon Europe MAGNET4EUROPE project)

Just complete a great read.with #NEXUS, on #AI and in context with scope on what the future holds, but above all, how to relate this: personal and professional. Its up to the reader to be scared or feel in controle.

So right, it also triggers serentipity and when some times, going into references, it brings me to surprisely new insights and helps contextual thinking.
2. Often, in reading books, reports or academic papers, I'll stumble across something far more interesting than the thing I thought I was exploring. And I’ll come to understand the deep background and context far better than if I allowed a machine to do some of the work.

Health sector faces a retention crisis. However, mismanagement #CareCowboys siphon budgets in long-term care, ignoring the 0.6% GPD on HWF of #OECD guideline. It’s time to invest in #nurses and #doctors. #SaveTheDate 14-15 January discuss this with us in the #ESNO2025 event in Brussels EESC.
