A superb article by Lewis Goodall on the background to the current crisis within the BBC
The reaction to the Panorama edit has been nothing short of hysterical. Yes the BBC has some impartiality problems. But its biggest isn't the one you think.

New piece from me.

There seems to be some *confusion*
among Reform supporters over Nathan Gill being one of them

“But, but, Reform didn’t exist when he took his Russian bribes”

“But, but he was in UKIP”

“But, but it has nothing to do with Farage, he barely knew the guy”

So here’s a little history lesson 👍🏼🧵

If Farage wins the next election, it will be down to one person. His name is Keir Starmer.
This thread explains why.
1. Destroying faith in democracy. The UK decisively voted out the Tories, only for Starmer to give us a Continuity Tory government, shamefully beholden to economic power.

I wrote something for GQ about how Armani impacted menswear. It's easy to forget, but when menswear transitioned to slimmer silhouettes in the early 2000s, baggy clothes were derided as "sloppy" and "middle aged." Over the years, people have revisited campaigns like these 🧵

Beautiful 1860s Victorian butterfly, which was used to store small packets of sewing needles on the underside of the wings. This was a collaboration between a London-based drapers company and a sewing needle manufacturer. On exhibit at Tatter Blue, a Brooklyn textile museum.
