Do you cry when one of your characters dies?

Does it hurt when you kill one of your favourite characters? Or do you distance yourself from your story so that you don't get too emotionally invested?

What role would you play in a fantasy adventuring party—mage, archer, tank, rogue, or healer?

You’ve got a rack of gear in front of you: staff, bow, shield, daggers—what do you grab? Does it match your role in your friend group?

What’s your pick?

Who is a “strong female protagonist” done right?

Came across this in a review I received from “Diaries of a Time Traveler.” The review said I done it right but all I did was make a well rounded character who just so happen to be female.

You should send fanmail to your favorite author!

This morning I had a wonderful chat via email with Sebastien De Castell, author of the Greatcoat series as well as Spellslinger.

So, for the person reading this, take a shot and send fan mail!

Which book covers had you say, “fuck, I’m reading that!?”

Personally, I love the American/Tor Michael Whelan covers for the Stormlight Archive because it gives off such a classic fantasy vibe.

What’s your trigger word that instantly tells you you’re in for a rough read?

For me, it’s ‘crimson.’ I’m pushing through From Blood and Ash by Jennifer Armentrout, and every time ‘crimson’ pops up I get major cringe vibes. It was in the first paragraph—should’ve known then what I was in for.

Which book/s did you read this year that received the lowest rating from you?

For me, Iron Flame. Expections were a bit high based on popularity.

Can you name any main characters who can mow down hundreds of enemy soldiers without hesitation, but then suddenly grow a conscience when it's time to take out a main foe, thinking, "enough blood has been spilled today"?

This annoys me. 😒
