Things that shouldn’t have happened, but did; I just made my debut with the #bbcsingers in a last minute serenade to music. They were welcoming, sympathetic and brilliant - such wonderful solos. My thank you gift to them is to never do it again!

There’s nothing quite like an empty concert hall or theatre. All the potential yet to be realised and all the joy to be brought. Arsenal de Metz with Orchestre des Champs-Élysées and Herreweghe.

A wonderful evening. This concert was to commemorate the bombing of the Nicolaikirche in Hamburg and was supported by the Dean of Coventry. Hamburg is so dear to my heart, and Owen’s words cut through me. The shocked silence at the end of the piece said it all.

Celebrating day1 on Bluesky with a jump-in for one of my favourite pieces in one of my favourite cities - Hamburg! Moin moin!
