No verification system is perfect but Bluesky’s domains as usernames is pretty good. MPs could use their own websites or parliament.uk could verify them eg @/kemibadenoch.parliament.uk
The Kemi account is fake according to @samcoatessky.bsky.social

Shows the verification issue…
There’s no verification on this site, so it’s hard to be sure what you’re looking at.

The Kemi Badenoch account on here is fake, her team tell me

Want to nobble lobby brain? It’s here now. There’s going to be a big influx of names/institutions on Tuesday afternoon once every comms team has had their start-of-week Monday morning catch-up and taken a day to get sign-off.

The rise of Bluesky and what it could mean for Elon Musk’s X
The app has had more than a million sign-ups since Donald Trump’s election, as X users seek sanctuary from bots, offensive posts — and its owner’s politics

In the week since the U.S. presidential election, Elon Musk has used X, the social media platform he owns, to reiterate his support for President-elect Donald Trump. Some of X’s users have decided they want to post elsewhere. Among the largest beneficiaries of that desire is Bluesky. nyti.ms/48JtYAt

Wordwork 👌
I love bluesky for many reasons but one reason is all it takes is for one person to try to dunk on theater kids for all the weirdos (positive) to crawl out of the wordwork and start being FAAABULOOOUUUUUSSSSS

(wordwork is like woodwork for a text-based platform, it was a typo but I'm keeping it)

As someone who loves and works with words, the idea of losing them is terrifying. I was moved by this story
Her Job Was Talking on the Radio. Then Suddenly, Words Wouldn’t Come.
One day last winter, Alison Stewart, the host of “All of It” on WNYC, was alarmed to find herself speaking gibberish.

My migration to Bluesky is complete and it feels great. Tip for people who still need to use X sometimes for work etc: hide it from your Home Screen and put Bluesky where it was. I haven’t even opened X in ages 🦋
