Who would have thought that trailing a likely extremely painful budget for months, means that people don’t spend and businesses don’t invest

Have to say I’m struggling with the excitement for System of a Down. Saw them not headlining 3x times from 2001-03 - the cannon hasn’t massively expanded since then & it’s stadium sell out territory - really?

Picked this up for £5 on eBay - can anyone help advise if the signature is likely to be genuine? Quite different to later autographs but early career signatures often more legible #barrysheene

Surely Liberty are going to sit the Moto GP paddock down soon to say ‘how much will it cost to change the regulations for next year - aero, tyres, ride height, sprint races - the lot?’

Monza once again affirming that the best thing that could happen to junior single seater ladder is establishing some lower cost rival series. Won’t happen because FIA, but it’s needed

In a regional hotel tonight - restaurant in succession has played Roxette, Fine Young Cannibals and Crowded House - move in 2025

Something I find odd whenever I read about scandals in TV shows is that in my 10 years of doing TV stuff I never saw anything that was improper (professional stretches some of budgets I worked to) - clearly confined to a v small handful of productions.

It’s easy to armchair it - but Norris keeps making race craft errors that would be drummed out of a moderately competitive club racer

As an idea this is a bit out there, but bear with me. Maybe, just maybe, the next time F1 updates its regulations this could be done in a way that allows the cars to race in the wet. Wild I know

Ozzfest 2001. 17 years old, somehow allowed to get the coach from Bristol to Milton Keynes to meet some mates there. Fabulous day and arguably my first huge step to adulthood. And capped by Black Sabbath who were magnificent. So glad I got to see Ozzy live and on it

Moto GP really can’t change its regulations soon enough

The new Creeper single really scratches the itch latest Ghost album doesn’t quite reach

Motorland Aragon such an odd track - a calendar perennial, but for cars at least I’ve never seen a race there that was better than 7/10

Torn on getting Metallica tickets for next summer. On one hand may well be the last time. On the other, each time I’ve seen them hasn’t been quite as good as the time before. And they won’t play enough from Load

Brilliant win for Palou. My broadcasting footnote is that I commentated on his first win (Euroformula 2014)

The UK song sounds like a west end pastiche of Queen where they misunderstood everything about why Queen songs work

How is it that the direction Labour ought to go in is visible from space to everyone except the few people actually deciding that direction?

Enjoying the new Ghost album, most of which is pure Eurovision metal and fun for it. I like the neon noir direction and kind of wish they'd gone all-in on it. That said, sense it was hellish to write, as several songs sound assembled from fragments

Sky should really have two commentary options - this one which is fine if you’ve never seen a race before and want puddle deep analysis and then an expert one that actually has the depth of insight you’d expect for the subscription fee

Find it quietly satisfying that the only two bits of my commentary that do the rounds online are pretty much my first (Ricciardo vs Bottas Silverstone 08) and last (Lawson vs Tsunoda Spa 19)
