Claude-2 was just launched, the most exciting part to me is it’s API is so much cheaper than GPT-4 for large context windows.

From its pricing table, per 1k tokens:

claude2-100k is $0.011 & $0.032 for input/output

GPT4-32k is $0.06 & $0.12

GPT3.5-32k is $0.003 & $0.004

Exactly how I explain to others when to use ChatGPT

// dealing with ChatGPT is like working with an incredibly brilliant, hard-working — and occasionally hungover — intern. That’s become my mental model for considering the usefulness of ChatGPT.
I’m an ER doctor. Here’s how I’m already using ChatGPT to help treat patients.
There are many futuristic possibilities for how AI might transform healthcare. But it can help doctors do a better job in small, safe ways…

Agree — putting AI into production is hard, even with GPT-4. Following the logic of this blog post, maybe we will see more AI applications in tech than any other industries first just coz most AI developers are… familiar with tech lol https://methexis.substack.com/p/production-ai-systems-are-really

No, AGI isn't going to take over every social system when GPT5 comes out

So… did I just read an article that Amazon complain AWS serverless is ridiculously expensive? https://www.primevideotech.com/video-streaming/scaling-up-the-prime-video-audio-video-monitoring-service-and-reducing-costs-by-90

Funniest after the hellthread
come to bluesky for the shitposts and thirst traps, stay for the realtime crash course in social media app development and adversarial beta testing

Ok except you don’t get to see so many boobs and butts at what’s hot on BBS
How Bluesky works now actually reminds me of BBS community in the 90s

Surprising: Half of vinyl buyers in the US don't even own a record player! https://consequence.net/2023/04/half-vinyl-buyers-record-player-study/🤔 Maybe that's not so weird why people are willing to buy #NFTs now

Thrilled to explore new-gen social networks, but the numerous React Native errors on the Bluesky app make me feel like I'm part of their QA team, lol! 😄
