June reading wrap up. Warp Your Own Way was super super fun. Overall tho, looks like someone’s been spending their reading time doom scrolling. 👀 #BookSky

This!!
My former newspaper, The Daily Emerald, which is ON the #UniversityofOregon campus, STILL has not published a single story about this.

Beyond disappointing.
An international student at the University of Oregon had their visa terminated after they were criminally charged, a school spokesperson confirmed Wednesday.

Great advise. I’m due for a library trip myself!
Seat belts, everyone 💚

If you’re on the struggle bus, please remember your seat belt (your seat belt is self-care). It is NOT selfish to prioritize your mental health, take care of you.

Visit your local library or favorite bookstore, watch your comfort show, drink some water, pet all the dogs…

BREAKING: A federal judge has temporarily blocked a Trump administration freeze on federal grants and loans.

U.S. District Judge Loren L. AliKhan blocked the action Tuesday afternoon, minutes before it was set to go into effect. The administrative stay pauses the freeze until Monday.

I would love to see this happen at the Springfield Public Library; however, the reality is that much of the city budget goes to the police department which honestly makes more work for social workers and furthers the need for something like this.
If you ask library workers to describe their dream library, one of the first things they’ll mention is having a social worker at the library (emphasizing the extraordinary helpers that they are!) 💚

Love that the Miami-Dade Library has social services to help neighbors access resources & programs ✨

I usually spend $ to file, but am considering this free option. It's available in Oregon for federal filing and Oregon has a free state filing tool. Direct File may be a good option for Oregonians if you (1/2)
Last year the IRS Direct File pilot program was a huge success—with over 140K taxpayers using the service.

This year, over 3.2M New Yorkers are eligible to file their taxes online for free directly with the IRS once again!

Deadline: April 15, 2025

I don't know about you, but my bsky feed is extremely apocalyptic (and for good reason), so when I saw my friend's post about what they love, it gave me pause. We must dig into our simple and not so simple joys, especially here, especially now.

Last night I had a dream that I ate a 60 lb protein bar. Guess I'm fortifying myself, even in my sleep, to make it through these next four years with my beloved community. We keep each other safe. <3

Just finished Phantasma by Kaylie Smith. Poe, a ghost kitty, was my favorite character by far. 👻 🐈 If you are looking for horror and smut, this might be just the book for you!
