I really love time-loop stories. Groundhog Day, Palm Springs. Even video games like the Hades series and Into the Breach. There's something very satisfying about seeing characters develop despite the repetition of their surroundings. It gives you hope that maybe you can break out of the loop, too.

Two things I learned this year-
Do not read comments : Some of my worst OCD spirals happened because of misinformation spread by reading comments on tiktok.
Blocking and Muting : Self-explanatory. Even if that means having to mute friends for a bit. Have boundaries.

Something The Muppet's Christmas Carol has that other versions don't have. All of Scrooge's coworkers are played by muppets. He literally HAS to look down at them. He doesn't see them as human. This psychological look into Scrooge's mindset can only be achieved using fuzzy muppets.

I have *religious trauma*, so engaging with xmas-related things, even music, is not for me. However, I fucking love A Christmas Carol. I'd argue (and Charles Dickens would back me) that it's less about the jebus and more about pushing back against greed. With ghosts. And sometimes muppets.

Anyway, I think Love and Mercy is the best biopic out there. Extremely underrated. A unique look into the genius of Brian Wilson, thoughtfully played by the always excellent Paul Dano.
