sort of a setlist of the authors Tilda read during Bliss #2, the source for Derek Jarman’s last film Blue.

I lost my phone at the cinema during a Tilda Swinton talk. I enjoyed my life phoneless, not being in constant conversation and just realizing all the "automatic" gestures to reach my phone to check the time or distract myself.

#letterboxdfriday let's go!
1. Kaurismaki always a warm hug
2. Always watch a Kieslowski til the end no matter what
3. Expected more choreographic action sequences, silly movie
4. Conversations with Bunny Watson > "conversations" with any AI. Great funny movie.

Curious :D
Too bad that 2025 is a shitshow in every other way because it is an AMAZING year for horror movies.

The crowd was hooting, hollering, and applauding at this one.
Going to see Weapons in about 30 minutes and I am PUMPED.

Resuming sporadical writing on this app. Sharing my #lastfourwatched because I am on an accidental streak of movies where women have agency and are complex characters in not a caricature way.

+1. Another series that joins my list of "that first season was enough i refuse to watch more" The list includes Ted Lasso, The Bear, and Killing Eve.
Could not agree more. This should have been a classic one and done. Do not go near it, leave your memories of the perfect original intact
This review of Bad Sisters S2 is absolutely spot-on. The charm, the chemistry, the warmth, the wit, the coherence, the style has all vanished. I’m pushed to think of a more dispiriting TV experience than wading through this rambling mess.

Tilda Swinton in Derek Jarman's WITTGENSTEIN (1993). She was BOTD in 1960.

Pedro Páramo (1967). Best book adaptation I have seen, and Gabriel Figueroa's photography always a delight.

Learned about Jonas Mekas, I imagine him with his friends going on like "ok folks, let's make our art, organize parties, and write a magazine". What an icon.
