Becoming Boudica

Feminist, late diagnosed AuDHD.

Unmasked, unapologetic, and unconquered.

Sharing my story to uplift fellow neurodivergent women. Becoming Boudica, one truth at a time.
Ever since I quit trying to make my brain work like a neurotypical’s, it works so much better.
Before it was like a computer running Windows ‘94, now it’s running iOS 18.

Autistic women are statistically more likely to have an eating disorder, and many are treated for one years prior to receiving ASD diagnosis. This is problematic because autistic women are less likely to respond to common treatment approaches, as the driving factor is not usually body dysmorphia.

I took my son to see How to Train Your Dragon last night. The movie was fabulous, but one thing stood out. They are supposed to be Vikings, yet Hiccup speaks with an American accent and his father with a Scottish brogue.
The inconsistency makes my brain itch.

Neurotypical individuals love autistic coded characters in books and movies. In real life though, not so much.
We are like the quirky aunt that you tell everyone you love, but only want to see at Thanksgiving.

I have about five different projects going on, none are near completion, and I feel the dopamine crash coming.
Send help.

You can’t hurt me.

I grew up back in the day when our elders would say things like, “If you aren’t pretty, you better have a good personality.”

I wasn’t “just sensitive.”
I was autistic.

Now I’m unmasking, speaking up, and building what I never had:
a space for late-diagnosed, neurodivergent women who are done shrinking.

Welcome to Becoming Boudica.
Unapologetic. Unmasked. Unconquered.
